SwitchBuddy is getting ready for Switch 2

The newest updates feature a countdown for the official reveal event and a Switch 2-inspired app theme.

Nintendo Switch companion app SwitchBuddy for iOS & Android is preparing for the next console. 

New widgets & theme

Recent updates added new countdown home screen widgets, which count to April 2, 2025, when Nintendo officially reveal the new console.

After the event, the widgets will be updated to count toward the official launch date of Nintendo Switch 2.

Both versions of the app also feature a new app theme that uses the “salmon” and blue colors from the first image of the Nintendo Switch 2.

The new widgets and themes are freely available and don’t require any in-app purchase or subscription to unlock.

The new content is available on the App Store for iPhone & iPad and on Google Play for Android smartphones.
