SwitchBuddy v5: Switch 2 exclusives, better library management, and more

SwitchBuddy — the unofficial Nintendo Switch (2) companion app — has received another significant update. The update focuses on Switch 2 and better game collection management.

Switch 2 exclusives

New list shows games that are only available for Nintendo Switch 2. Users can view upcoming games and those already released. Additionally, in the featured games list, those Switch 2 exclusives have a badge to make them easier to find.

Better games collection

Users can now create custom tags to further organize their games. These tags can also be combined with a status via “Custom filter” - this lets gamers, for example, easily find all Backlog games that also have custom tags.

Games for each status and tag can be viewed in a dedicated section. SwitchBuddy also supports customized layout and ordering for each section. In addition, new “Preferences” screen allows to pick preferred layout and ordering.

Improved Wishlist

Wishlist section first lists games currently on sale to make it easier to find them, and there is new Lowest price ordering option.

The sales notifications were expanded to also cover special editions. For example, if a user adds the game “Dredge” to their Wishlist and there is a sale only for the Deluxe Edition, SwitchBuddy will now also send a notification. Making it even easier to save money on games.

iCloud Sync

The games library - including tags and activity for individual games - is now securely backed up and synced via iCloud. This makes it super straightforward to use SwitchBuddy on multiple devices.

Availability

SwitchBuddy version 5.0.0 is now available from the App Store for iOS 15+ and iPadOS 15+.
