GamingBuddy gets complete IGDB integration, games collection management & more

Version 3.0 brings much-requested IGDB integration (including PopScore), the ability to categorize games, and significant design improvements.

IGDB integration

With the new update, GamingBuddy can search the entire IGDB games database, allowing users to track all the games in their collections. The search tries to intelligently sort the results based on relevance (like the release date, game type, whether the user owns a specific gaming system and more) to make this process as easy as possible.

Another new feature is IGDB PopScore integration. This was recently added to IGDB and lets users view currently popular games based on criteria like visits, currently being played, and more. Adding yet another way to discover new games to play.

Collection organization

Saved games can be organized into categories: Wishlist, Backlog, Playing, Finished & Abandoned. This makes it easy to track what to play and will be expanded in the future with more details and options.

Interface improvements

Most of the app’s UI has been redesigned with a focus on showing more information at a glance. The new design is most prominent with various lists (Upcoming, New reveals, PopScore) that show genres + supported game modes.

Availability

GamingBuddy 3.0.0 is available starting August 28 from the App Store for iPhones. It requires iOS 16+.
