BEHIND DEJAVIEW

We think, paper business cards have reached the end of their lives. In most cases you always print way too much and when your job title or phone number changes, you still have left plenty of them.

So, what about NFC cards made of plastic or metal? While these solutions may be more versatile and easier to update, they come with other problems.

Why should you use a physical card when you can have everything right on your iPhone? We started selecting our bank by if it offers Apple Pay years ago. We have our concert tickets and boarding passes in Apple Wallet – so why add a physical card to your physical wallet.

The other thing: NFC/QR codes from these cards always link to a webpage, hosted by the service provider. Which means, no offline functionality and once the company stops offering their service, your plastic/metal card is simply useless.

For this reason, DejaView works without any external dependencies, servers etc. involved. When you choose to create a vCard QR code, your contact information is included in the QR code itself – eliminating the need for an internet connection when scanning the code.
Additionally, the card automatically updates, once you update your contact information in the Contacts App – no need to think about updating manually or printing new paper business cards.

DejaView is purely written in SwiftUI (except usage of CNContactPickerViewController, UIApplicationDelegate & UIWindowSceneDelegate) and makes use of lots of awesome Swift and SwiftUI functionalities, such as NavigationStack, ViewThatFits, PhotosPicker, ColorPicker, CoreData, AppStorage, Searchable, ViewModifier, Combine, List onMove and swipeActions, and CNContact.

ABOUT HEIMATHAUFEN

HEIMATHAUFEN was founded in 2018 as Two-People-Company and still is today.
While Oliver specializes in IT Services like Controlling and Business Intelligence, Boris is responsible for App Development. DejaView is his second app in the App Store.
Oliver & Boris both love to cook and have a glass of red wine. That’s why in 2019 they made their dream come true and published a cookbook with all of their favorite recipes.
